One-Week Performance Intensive at Cincinnati Playhouse in The Park
June 3 - 7 | 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. (Grades 1-10)
Performance: 3:30 p.m. on the last day of camp.
Wicked fun awaits! Follow the children of Disney’s vilest villains on their journey from their home on the Isle of the Lost all the way to prep school in a different land. Help the descendants make a hard choice: Should they follow in their parents’ evil ways or become good? Enter a world where everyone around you is “rotten to the core” as we explore the music and mayhem of Disney’s Descendants: The Musical. This four-day musical theatre intensive focuses on developing song and dance techniques by learning selections from the Descendants songbook. Campers will prove that “good is the new bad” in a performance showcase at the end of the week.

Travel back in time to 1980s Hawkins, Indiana, and weave your own supernatural mystery! Together we’ll create a suspenseful story that’s full of twists, turns, secrets and lore in the spirit of Stranger Things. Write monologues and develop original characters, then perform your writing at the end of the week in a character Showcase.

The sun’ll come out tomorrow! Everyone’s favorite little redhead takes center stage in one of the world’s most beloved award-winning musicals. Little orphan Annie dreams of finding the parents who left her at an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Join in the adventures of this mischievous and lovable heroine as she foils Miss Hannigan’s evil schemes and eventually finds a home with billionaire Daddy Warbucks and a loveable mutt named Sandy. In this two-week performance academy, campers work as a group to put together a full production of this charming and fun musical story, complete with sets and costumes.

Cady Heron is a naive, high-school newbie who’s unprepared to take on the wilds of suburban Illinois—especially when it’s ruled by The Plastics, a trio of lionized frenemies led by the charming but ruthless Regina George. Alongside her newfound friends, Cady hatches a plan to exact revenge and end Regina’s reign as Queen Bee. In this two-week performance academy, campers take classes in singing and dancing while putting together a full production of Mean Girls JR., complete with sets and costumes.

Sing and dance your way through the story of this haunting and hilarious Broadway musical about the “ghost with the most.” Follow the Deetz family’s run-in with the infamous Beetlejuice while learning a selection of songs and scenes. Take classes in singing, dancing and design — plus an extended rehearsal and performance class — in the lead-up to a Showcase of selected songs and scenes at the end of the week.

Just keep swimming! Get ready for an underwater musical adventure about a clownfish dad who goes on an epic journey to find his son. Life in the Great Barrier Reef is safe and cozy for Marlin and his son, Nemo. But when Nemo swims too far and gets captured by a diver, Marlin sets off on a journey across the ocean to save him. Along the way, he finds help from optimistic but forgetful Dory, laid-back sea turtle Crush and the supportive Tank Gang who takes Nemo under their fins. In this two-week performance academy, campers bring to life Disney’s vibrant story about family, friendship and facing your fears in a full production, complete with sets and costumes.

In this heart-pounding adventure that lovingly pays homage to being a geek, Agnes Evans must deal with the untimely death of her teenage sister, Tilly. She stumbles upon Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, and before long, she’s catapulted into the thrilling imaginary world that was her sister’s refuge. Dramatic comedy meets high-octane action and fun in this two-week performance academy. Campers gain experience in stage combat, improvisation, and acting while putting together a full, non-musical production, complete with sets, props and costumes they’ll make from scratch.

Explore the cracks within the magical Casita and tell the story of the Madrigals. In this camp, we do talk about Bruno with classes in singing, dancing and acting. Join our rebellion as we revisit our rotten roots and return to the run-down town on the Isle of the Lost! This will be a different experience from our June Descendants Musical Theatre Intensive, so campers can participate in both! This one focuses on developing song and dance techniques by learning selections from the Descendants 2 songbook. Campers will be “chillin’ like a villian” in a performance showcase at the end of the week.
