Rentals

Theatres and special event spaces in the Playhouse are available to rent for a variety of performances, receptions, and meetings. Theatre rentals include the new Moe and Jack’s Place – The Rouse Theatre, with a capacity of up to 537, and the 172-seat historic Rosenthal Shelterhouse Theatre. Our special event spaces can accommodate anything from small intimate receptions to large events of up to 400. Explore the options below to see what we offer here at the Playhouse.

We are currently booking events through June 2025. We will begin booking events for July 2025 through June 2026 in April 2025.

Theatre Spaces

Moe and Jack’s Place – The Rouse Theatre

The Rosenthal Shelterhouse Theatre

 

  • 537 or 510 Capacity
  • $800 per event during a run of a performance
  • $1000 per event when theatre is dark
  • $700 per load-in, technical or load-out day
  • Weekly rates upon request

Special event start times will be determined in consultation with venue management. If you are renting one of our theatres for a ticketed performance, start times are 7:30 p.m. (Tuesday - Saturday) and 2 p.m. (Saturday and Sunday).

Theatre rental rates include use of the space from 8 a.m. – 11:59 p.m. on the event day for load-in, technical work, rehearsal, up to a 2 ½ hour event, and load-out; production manager; house managers and house assistants; and volunteer ushers. Stagehand labor and equipment rental costs are additional and can be estimated only with detailed production information in writing.

  • Schiff Education Studio
  • 34’ x 50’; 250 Standing Capacity
  • $750 per event

 

  • Rouse Rehearsal Room
  • 23’ x 29’; 100 Standing Capacity
  • $300 per event

 

Special event space capacity can vary depending on room set-up. Special event rental rates include use of the space for 4 hours, including load-in and set-up, the event, and load-out; standard furniture; and venue management personnel. Other labor and equipment rental costs are additional and can be estimated only with detailed production information in writing.

Please review our rate card and bar service rate card to begin planning today. Non-profit organizations receive a 10% discount on space rental fees only; documentation of non-profit status must be provided to qualify.
