At Playhouse, we believe everyone has a voice. Our youth classes are designed to build confidence, strengthen communication skills and develop a sense of ensemble and community. Programs focus on individual and collective skill development in a fun and supportive environment. Each session of classes focuses on a particular set of theatricals skills – Acting, Movement/Voice and Improvisation – and provides a rich learning experience. The class sessions build upon one another and provide a well-rounded foundation.
Each child acting class tuition includes a $25, non-refundable registration fee. Cancellations prior to the first day of class will be honored with a refund, minus the $25 non-refundable registration fee. Cancellations after the first class will receive a pro-rated refund, minus the first class and the $25 non-refundable registration fee. There will be no refunds given after the second class.
In the case of inclement weather, families will be advised via email regarding the cancellation of class. For classes at the Playhouse, we will make decisions no later than 3 hours prior to the start of class. For classes at schools, we will follow what the students' school decides. We will do our best to make up for the missed class. If a make-up class is not possible, a pro-rated refund will be provided.
Please note that school-based classes are only available for students currently enrolled in those schools. If you would like to bring Playhouse Youth Drama Classes to your school, please contact education@cincyplay.com for more information.

MUAH-HAHAHA! What will you create in your evil lab? A new monster? A robot? A freeze ray? Through improv games and techniques, we will conduct a series of wild (imaginary) experiments to see which go right . . . and which go horribly wrong! Over the course of our class, we will work to develop the characters of mad scientists and their strange creations. Who knows what will come out of our laboratory! There will be a sharing of our experiments and creations with families on the last day of class

Our 45-minute classes for young children focus on social and artistic development through imagination, theatre games and a visual art component. We teach students how to work as an ensemble and use their voices, bodies and imaginations to create tell stories and go on imaginary adventures.
Our 45-minute classes for young performers focus on social and artistic development through creative dramatics, improvisation and theatre games. We teach students how to band together as an ensemble and use their voices, bodies and imaginations to create complex tales and characters.
Our 60-minute classes for young performers focus on developing the craft and technique of acting and specialty subjects that can include voice, movement, improvisation, and more through fun exploration and ensemble building. We value process over product as young actors develop skills and confidence.
Our 90-minute classes for young performers developing the craft of performance technique including acting, rehearsal, script analysis, blocking and character development. Our musical theatre performance workshops include instruction in dance and singing. The learning goals for this program emphasize understanding the process of developing a character, putting scenes together and working as an ensemble.
