Performers learn the fundamentals of singing, dancing and acting as each camp group takes on one movie musical to focus on and share from at the end of the week. Lights, camera, action! Learn the fundamentals of filmmaking and work as a crew to make a movie in this two-week performance camp. Campers are grouped into teams to write, film and edit their own short film. Lessons including screenwriting, storyboarding, rehearsal, acting for the camera, filming and editing. Camp will culminate in a mini-film festival that features each group’s short film. Artists will be organized by age for film groups. Space is limited to a first-come, first-served basis. When the Drama Club notices that their biggest rivals, the Cheerleaders, have turned into zombies, they realize it’s up to them to save the rest of the school from their flesh-eating squad of undead enemies. The ragtag group of Drama Geeks must use their dramatic flair to slay their rivals before it’s too late. Performers take classes in acting, stage combat, theatre crafts and stage makeup, and they gain experience in blocking and rehearsal practices while putting together a full, non-musical production of Drama Geeks vs. Zombie Cheerleaders.
