ARTISTIC/PRODUCTION


Electrician 2 (Lighting Technician) (IATSE Local 5

Responsible, in collaboration with Electrician 1, for the installation and maintenance of all lighting equipment for Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park (CPIP). Also responsible for the operation and programming of lighting cues for rehearsals and performances. May occasionally give direct employees working in installation and maintenance area. When not working in this area, they shall perform such other work as assigned. Candidates are not required to be affiliated with IATSE to apply.

These are temporary positions that will span 4-8 weeks depending on the production. These positions will require work outside normal business hours, including, but not limited to, evenings and weekends.

Over-hire Backstage Crew

Playhouse in the Park seeks over-hire backstage crew in multiple departments to be responsible for running various technical elements of shows during performances. Physical locations for this job will include the new, state-of-the-art Mainstage Theatre Moe and Jack’s Place – The Rouse Theatre and the recently renovated Rosenthal Shelterhouse Theater, and the accompanying backstage and support areas. These positions report directly to the Production Stage Manager and Stage Management Staff.

These are temporary positions that will span 4-8 weeks depending on the production. These positions will require work outside normal business hours, including, but not limited to, evenings and weekends.

Summer Camp Instructor

This summer we are particularly seeking instructors who can teach voice and accompany students on the piano, though candidates who do not possess these skills may also be considered. The instructor will teach a variety of classes that may include but are not limited to acting, improvisation, writing, singing, dance, stage combat (if certified) crafts, rehearsal and performance, and other specialties for one to eight weeks during our 2026 summer. Select instructors may also be asked to direct one of our Performance Academy shows. In addition to their teaching duties, Instructors will help to mentor Teaching Artist Fellows during the course of the camp day by co-teaching, observing teaching and providing feedback. Instructors may be assigned to any of our locations over the course of the summer including Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park and Mason Community Center/Middle School/High School.

Summer Camp Launch Pad Coordinator

The Launch Pad Coordinator will, before each week of camp, contact parents/guardians to check in about students and obtain additional information about children attending camp each week. During the camp week they will work with camp director and staff to make sure camp is running smoothly and will field parent calls and camper needs. They will help to facilitate the camp plan and make in-the-moment decisions in conference with Education Director and other staff. Day-to-day, they will give support to all students at summer camp with special attention paid to students enrolled in or needing the resources provided by the Launch Pad program. They will help to mentor Teaching Artist Fellows in how to work with and support the needs of all learners during the camp day by observing and providing feedback. Coordinators may be assigned to any of our locations over the course of the summer including Mason Community Center/High School/Middle School and Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park.

Summer Camp Assistant

The Summer Camp Assistant will help to oversee the facilitation of aspects of the day to day of camp including but not limited to; check-in and check-out, basic parent communication, materials and room prep, implementing the staff break plan, and class rotations. They assist in creating and maintaining a positive and fun camp environment.

Ideal candidates are currently attending college, are recent college graduates or possess relevant experience, have experience working with children and are enthusiastic about summer camps. Summer Camp Assistants are hired for eight weeks of camp plus training. Camp dates run June 1 – June 26, 2026, and July 6 – July 31, 2026. Camp hours are typically between 8:45 a.m. – 4:15 p.m., Monday – Friday, and shifts will be typically assigned between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.. Shifts may change as need arises and some Fridays may have additional hours due to performances. Total hours will typically run 30-40 hours per week, not to exceed 40 hours per week. Selected candidates will ideally be available for training and preparation from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on May 26-29, 2026.

Teaching Artist Fellow/Summer Camp

The Teaching Artist Training Fellowship at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park is designed to provide pedagogical training in a practical environment for emerging artists interested in pursuing work as a teaching artist. During the summer, fellows will serve as camp counselors for Playhouse summer camps, which includes working as teaching assistants and group leaders. They will learn by observing, assisting, co-teaching and then leading – all while receiving supplemental training throughout the summer.

The beginning weeks of camp focus on learning the processes and procedures of the day-to-day operations of a large-scale education program like summer camp, practicing classroom management skills and observing different teaching styles, followed by weekly online learning, analysis, and discussion. In the following weeks, fellows will begin the transition from assistant teacher to co- and lead teachers. As Teaching Artist Fellows/counselors, participants in the training program will help to facilitate all aspects of camp. Throughout the day counselors facilitate their group's activities, complete check-in and check-out of students, proctor camper breaks, support Teaching Artists as teaching assistants during classes, and serve as role models who assist and motivate campers, among other projects, as assigned. Fellows may be assigned to any of our locations over the course of the summer including Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, and Mason Community Center/Middle School/High School.

After School Classes Teaching Artist

The Teaching Artist is responsible for check-in and check-out, implementing curriculum, teaching participants, communicating with partners onsite at the schools, and collaborating with Playhouse Education Staff and other professional artists. They are responsible for following lesson plans and maintaining a positive and exciting classroom environment.

This position is a part-time, temporary, seasonal position with an hourly rate of $35. The hours will be based on individual classes and the needs of the school/partner. Afterschool Classes take place in Fall, Winter, and Spring and are typically eight sessions that start between 2:00 and 3:30 and last 30 – 90 minutes. This position typically teaches 1-5 hours per week when classes are in session. This position requires travel to school and community center venues, including locations throughout the tri-state area. After School Teaching Artist will be paid for teaching time and 30 minutes total of travel/set up time per day.

IN-SCHOOL WORKSHOPS TEACHING ARTIST

The In-School Workshop Teaching Artist is responsible for teaching participants using theatre and arts integration techniques, implementing curriculum, communicating with teachers and partners onsite at the schools, and collaborating with Playhouse Education Staff and other professional artists. They are responsible for following lesson plans and maintaining a positive and exciting classroom environment.

This is a temporary, occasional position with an hourly rate of $25-$35. This position typically teaches between 5 and 30 hours per week on assigned weeks. School Workshops Teaching Artists will be paid for teaching time and 30 minutes total of entrance and exit time per day. Hours and weeks will be based on individual classes and the needs of the school.

This position requires travel to school locations throughout the tri-state area. Qualified candidates must be flexible and able to take School Workshop assignments in a variety of locations, therefore, candidates must possess reliable transportation.
