Hearts soar in the Tony Award-winning, Calypso-flavored musical, Once on This Island. Ti Moune, a peasant girl, rescues a wealthy boy, Daniel, from the other side of the island and falls in love with him. But the pompous gods who preside over the island make a bet with one another over which is stronger: love or death, with the stakes being Ti Moune’s life. This recent Broadway hit captivates audiences with a vibrant and unforgettable story of a woman who travels far and wide to reunite with the man who has captured her heart.

ADVISORY: Once on This Island is suitable for ages 10 and up. This enchanting story about a girl who tempts the gods of nature will flood your senses with its thunderous musical score. There is also a sprinkle of onstage violence and some mature themes.

RUNNING TIME: Once on This Island runs approximately 85 minutes, with no intermission.


$10 TUESDAYS!
On Tuesday, Sept. 10, and Tuesday, Sept. 17, a minimum of 100 tickets for Once on This Island will be available for just $10 each. These tickets can only be purchased in-person at the Box Office beginning at 6 p.m. on the day of the show. Limit two per person. No advance reservations or choice of seating.

Lex is delighted to be back at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, having last designed Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery. His work includes scenic and costume design for performance-based productions. To date, his New York City/off-Broadway credits exceed over 50 productions and his most recent work includes Antigone, Nine Circles and The Bacchae.
