In the new Moe and Jack's Place – The Rouse Theatre, you can expect added comfort and accessibility

Moe and Jack's Place features more legroom and better chairs, and accessible seating in every section! The elevator for the new building will take patrons up to the balcony or down to the front rows of the orchestra section.

The doors are on the first level of the lobby, which means that all patrons can access the new theatre on the same level where they enter the building, only using the elevator for seats in the balcony section or front rows. The elevator can also be used to access the Rosenthal Shelterhouse Theatre, which will remain in its second-floor location.

Sensory Friendly/Relaxed Performances

Our sensory-friendly/relaxed performance is designed for anyone who would benefit from a more sensory-aware and relaxed theatre experience. Although open to all, these performances are offered to accommodate individuals with sensory sensitivities, anxiety, dementia, autism spectrum disorders, learning differences or challenges, and others who need a more accommodating environment.

24-25 season performance dates:

  • A Christmas Carol
    Sat. Dec 27, 2 p.m.

Audio-Described Performances

The Playhouse was the first theatre in Ohio to offer regularly scheduled audio description for the visually impaired. Trained volunteers describe the visual elements of the production via a hearing enhancement system, allowing patrons to hear dialogue, music and other sound effects. The description is timed to avoid interfering with dialogue. Before the show and during intermission, show and actor information are shared.

This service is free. Please see dates below.
