Sensory-Friendly/Relaxed Performances

Our sensory-friendly/relaxed performance is designed for anyone who would benefit from a more sensory-aware and relaxed theatre experience.

Who attends a sensory-friendly/relaxed performance?

Although open to all, these performances are offered to accommodate individuals with sensory sensitivities, anxiety, dementia, autism spectrum disorders, learning differences or challenges, and others who need a more accommodating environment.

What is a sensory-friendly/relaxed performance?

The performance focuses on relaxing or adapting the theatre-going environment for those with sensory sensitivities while maintaining the artistic vision of the show and providing an authentic live theatre experience.

What can I expect?

Pre-Performance:

  • An Audience Guide will be provided in advance and distributed digitally to all ticket holders seven days prior to the performance. It will also be available on this page beginning December1.

During the performance:

  • Minor adjustments to sensory elements of the production, such as lowering loud sounds and the reduction of strobe lights/strong lighting effects.
  • House lights on but dimmed throughout the performance.
  • Limited and socially distanced seating options and designated areas within the theatre for standing and moving around.
  • Guests welcome to exit and re-enter the theatre and to talk and express themselves vocally anytime during the performance.
  • Designated quiet space in the lobby.
  • Trained staff onsite to ensure a positive experience.

How do I purchase tickets?

  • Adult tickets for the sensory-friendly/relaxed performance are $35 in all sections; children/teens ages 5-19 are $15. Children under 5 are not admitted due to the full-length nature of the performance, which runs 1 hour and 50 minutes, including a 20-minute intermission.
  • You can purchase online and select your own seats. You’ll see the socially distanced seating option in the chart between the seats marked “not for sale.” Online, you can purchase up to six tickets.
  • Tickets can also be purchased by calling our Box Office at 513-421-3888. Orders for more than six tickets must be made by phone to ensure socially distanced seating.
