At Playhouse, we believe theatre can be created by any person at any age. Our youth classes are designed to build confidence and develop a sense of ensemble and community. Programs focus on developing drama skills in a fun and supportive environment. Each session of classes focuses on a particular set of theatricals skills – Acting, Movement/Voice and Improvisation – and provides a rich learning experience. The class sessions build upon one another and provide a well-rounded foundation.
Each child acting class tuition includes a $25, non-refundable registration fee. Cancellations prior to the first day of class will be honored with a refund, minus the $25 non-refundable registration fee. Cancellations after the first class will receive a pro-rated refund, minus the first class and the $25 non-refundable registration fee. There will be no refunds given after the second class.
In the case of inclement weather, families will be advised via email regarding the cancellation of class. For classes at the Playhouse, we will make decisions no later than 3 hours prior to the start of class. We will do our best to make up for the missed class. If a make-up class is not possible, a pro-rated refund will be provided.

In this theatre improvisation class, we’ll leave no star or planet unexplored as we use our imaginations, follow our impulses and respond quickly to the changing circumstances of each theatre exercise to defy unexpected challenges and build new worlds together

In this theatre improvisation class, students will follow their impulses, experiment with characters and ideas, and collaborate through playful voice and movement exercises. By embracing spontaneity and responding to each moment as it comes, we’ll build confidence, sharpen our listening skills, and discover just how fun it can be to create together on the spot.

Our 45-minute classes for our youngest performers focus on building stories. Using their imagination, theatre games and visual art, students learn to work as an ensemble and go on imaginary adventures.
Our 45-minute classes for young performers focus on social and artistic development. Through creative drama and theatre games, students learn to form an ensemble and use their body, voice and imagination to create original stories and characters.
Our 60-minute classes for emerging performers focus on developing the craft and technique of acting through fun drama exploration and ensemble building. We value process over product as young actors develop skills and confidence.
