Believe in miracles. Adapted from the bestselling novel, A Prayer for Owen Meany is a sweeping saga of friendship, destiny and the miracle of faith. Set against the backdrop of societal upheaval in America during the 1960s, this heartwarming and often amusing story recounts the unbreakable bond between Owen and John, who remain forever linked by a tragic childhood accident. The aftermath propels John into a lifelong journey of questions regarding his own spiritual beliefs. At the same time, Owen surfaces with the unwavering conviction that he is an instrument of God. After capturing the imagination of generations of readers, Owen Meany has become an extraordinary and unforgettable theatrical event.

"Staged with epic flair ... Owen Meany soars." — The Washington Post

Role : Rector Wiggins/Coach Chickering/Randy White/Major Rawls/Ensemble
Order :
Mr. Joplin is happy to return to the Playhouse stage after verbally abusing Tom Robinson in To Kill a Mockingbird last season. He has appeared locally at Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, The Carnegie and Falcon Theatre, as well as regionally at Shakespeare Festival St. Louis, St. Louis Black Repertory Company, The New Theater, Insight Theatre Company, Historyonics Theatre Company, The Wings Theater and Algonquin Arts Theatre in New York and The New York International Fringe Festival. The performance he is most proud of was on tour with Cirque du Soleil's production of Kooza where he met his lovely wife, Erin; he is one of few individuals who has run off with the circus only to find marriage and stability. He would like to dedicate this performance to God's other instrument, his mother Janie. Mr. Joplin is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association.
