Ms. Stone lives for the living playwright. Designs for premieres have been seen in New York at Playwrights Horizon, Second Stage, Lincoln Centre Theatre 3, Rattlestick, New Victory (Drama Desk Nomination,
Brundibár), Ars Nova (Lortel Nomination, Outstanding Musical,
The Wildness), Joyce, Primary Stages, Cherry Lane, La Mama and Women’s Project. Regional design credits include productions with Hartford Stage, Huntington, Yale Repertory Theatre, Old Globe, Long Wharf, Berkeley Rep, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Lyric Opera Baltimore, Florentine Opera, Nashville Opera, Tulsa Opera, Memphis Opera, Cleveland Opera and Chicago Opera Theatre. International design credits include three productions at The Abbey Theatre, Project Theatre Dublin, Riverside—London, Wiesbaden Festival—Germany, Dublin and Edinburgh Theatre Festivals, Royal Theatre—Tasmania and Mermaid Arts Center—Bray, Ireland. Mr. Stone’s most near and dear productions include Cusi Cram’s
A Lifetime Burning (Primary Stages) with director Pam MacKinnon; Jenny Schwartz’s
God’s Ear (Vineyard/NewGeorges at CSC) with director Anne Kauffman, and Set/Projections for J.T. Rogers’
Blood and Gifts (La Jolla Playhouse – regional premiere) with director Lucie Tiberghien. Recent and upcoming credits include
Hundred Days, a rock musical by the Bengsons and directed by Anne Kauffman for The Public Theatre (Under The Radar Festival 2017); and
Night Kitchen by Philip Glass and Maurice Sendak, directed by Phelim McDermott (Manchester International Festival 2019).
