There are many opportunities for donors and sponsors to get “backstage” at the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park and discover the challenges and joy of producing live theatre. Special events are planned throughout the season, and Playhouse donors enjoy mingling with other theatre lovers and meeting guest artists, directors and designers. For members of the Playhouse Circle ($10-$249 annual contribution)

Opening Night at the Playhouse

Celebrate the opening of a Marx or Shelterhouse Theatre production at a post-show reception. Spend time with the cast, enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres and mingle with other Playhouse patrons. The opening night party is for everyone – donors and subscribers alike.

For members of the Spotlight Circle ($250 - $4,999 annual contribution)

Attend the Spotlight Circle Reception

Open to all members of the Spotlight Circle, you won’t want to miss this reception hosted by Producing Artistic Director Ed Stern, providing you with the chance to meet other theatre lovers and guest artists.

Join a Play Team

Enjoy a rare opportunity to see how a Playhouse show is produced. Hear the play read for the very first time by the cast. Share a casual dinner with Producing Artistic Director Ed Stern and the cast after the first rehearsal. Experience a tech rehearsal and opening night of your production. Then celebrate the show on closing night with a champagne toast with the cast. Donors at the Star level ($250) are eligible to join a Play Team. Limited to 14 people, this exclusive opportunity costs $75 per person. Playwright level donors ($2,500) receive complimentary Play Team participation for two.

See the Lafley Touring Company

The Playhouse’s own educational theatre company, the Lafley Touring Company, brings the magic of live theatre to young audiences in the Tri-state. Donors at the Stage Manager level ($500) are invited to a final dress rehearsal for one of these productions.

Travel to London for the annual Playhouse Theatre Tour

Donors at the Stage Manager level ($500) receive a priority invitation to the annual Playhouse Theatre Tour to London. Participants enjoy six or seven outstanding plays at some of the world’s greatest theatres. Backstage tours, exclusive post-performance discussions with leading actors and a discussion of a new work are also part of the itinerary.

Get “Behind the Scenes”

Special access to the Playhouse’s Scene and Prop shop is available for donors at the Designer level ($1000). This tour guarantees an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at one or more of the season’s productions and an opportunity to learn more about what you see on stage throughout the season.

For members of the Artistic Director’s Circle ($5,000+ annual contribution)

Attend the Exclusive Season Announcement Party

All members of the Artistic Director’s Circle receive a priority invitation to the Season Announcement Party. Mingle with the Playhouse Board and get a sneak preview of the shows chosen by Producing Artistic Director Ed Stern as he describes the upcoming productions and how they were chosen.

Join us for our new “In the Spotlight” Series

An exclusive seat is waiting for you and a guest at our new “In the Spotlight” series. Part social, part educational and all fun, “In the Spotlight” is designed to bring Artistic Director's Circle members closer to the heart of the Playhouse and the artists whose work you make possible.

For Corporate Donors

Attend the Salute to Sponsors Night

Spend the evening with other Playhouse corporate donors. Enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and a Playhouse production from a premium seat. Corporate sponsors are also listed in the “Salute to Sponsors” program during the last show of the season.

Get "Behind the Scenes"

Corporate Donors are treated to a tour of the Scene and Prop shop. This tour guarantees an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at one or more of the season’s productions and an opportunity to learn more about what you see on stage throughout the season.

Morse Johnson Society Dinner

The Playhouse has a special Circle – The Morse Johnson Society – for friends who have included the Playhouse in their estate plans. As a celebration of thanks for their future support, members are treated to a special evening at the Playhouse including a three-course dinner hosted by Ed Stern and featuring a guest artist.
