The Tony Award winning Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, is accepting resumes for AEA stage managers for the 2008-2009 season. Candidates will be considered for a single show contract in either the LORT B+ or LORT D venue. In the 2009-2010 season, the Playhouse hopes to permanently fill a staff opening in its Stage Management Department from these qualified applicants. Please send a cover letter, current resume and references to: Jenifer Morrow POSITION: Director of Education The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park is currently seeking a dynamic, visionary and energetic individual to head its educational programming which reaches over 50,000 young people and families annually. The Playhouse is looking for someone with a significant background in arts education and the successful candidate will have superior multi-tasking, collaborative and communication skills. Those skills will be applied to producing theatre for young audiences, directing touring shows, negotiating with artists agents, hiring and training teaching artists, managing a budget of over $300,000, commissioning and guiding to production a new play each season, and collaborating with the Development Department to obtain funding for educational projects. Major responsibilities include producing for the Playhouse an outreach touring season that includes eight performance pieces, six of which are brought in from around the country and two that are produced from within the Playhouse (including one new play each season). Also, the Education Director produces for the theatre sixteen Saturdays of family programming and is responsible for all school residencies. Experience with integrated curriculum and working closely with teachers is important. This position oversees all acting classes for children and adults and works closely with the camp director for the successful implementation of the summer theatre day camp program. In addition the Director of Education coordinates the day to day running of the theatre’s acting intern program and assists with the casting process. This position reports directly to the Producing Artistic Director and Executive Director. BA, MA or MFA in theatre, direction, arts education or arts administration required with directing and teaching experience. The position is responsible for overseeing front of house operations for the Marx Theatre and Shelterhouse Theatre; for recruiting, training and coordinating Assistant House Managers; training, scheduling and supervising the volunteer ushers; overseeing ticket taking, count, and traffic flow; coordinating with other Playhouse departments on pre and post performance activities for Playhouse audiences; and other duties as assigned. Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park is seeking an experienced sound technician to run and maintain a five show season in the Shelterhouse Theater. Position begins 9/01/08 and runs through 6/14/09. Preferred candidate will have experience with mixing live musicals, as well as sound effects editing and playback. Experience with Digital Audio Mixers a plus. Competitive salary. POSITION: Theatre Teaching Artists Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park is looking for theatre teaching artists to work with young people through the theatre's various educational and outreach programs.
